GUIDELINES

1. The World Alzheimer’s Day 2015 Table Tennis Fun Tournament will be played in mixed gender, singles event under the following *AGE categories:

Veterans (45 years old and above)

Adults (18 years old and above)

Minors (17 years old and below)

*Participants shall present any identification as proof of age

2. All interested participants must register online www.4get-me-not.org and fill in all the required details. Participants are encouraged to declare their skill level with utmost honesty and sportsmanlike intention. Participants may be subjected to screening to validate their declared skill level.

3. Deadline of on-line registration is only until 08 September 2015, at 6PM Dubai time.

4. Site is located at the Ground Floor, Festival Square – DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY MALL.

5. Two day tournament will be on 11th-12th September 2015. On-site registration for both days starts at 10am.

6. Tournament schedule is from11am – 7:30pm. Awarding ceremony starts at 8pm

7. The tournament per category will start on a Group Stage – Round Robin System consisting of 4 players subjective to the actual number of participants per category. The Top 2 players in their respective groups will advance to the Knockout Stage.

8. The Group Stage will be played in the best of 3 games. The Knockout stage and Semi Finals matches on all categories will be played in the best of 3 games.

9. In the event when there will be a simple tie in the Group Stage, the rule of Win over the Other will be used. If there are more than one tie, the point system method will be used. The number of sets won less the number or sets lost will be the deciding factor.

10.All rules are subject to change and or sudden upgrade by the committee as per situation occurs. In the event when disputes over the rules arise, the decision of the 4get-me-not Tournament Organizers will be considered as final. This tournament encourages friendship and sportsmanship to all. All players are requested to show utmost cooperation and camaraderie to each and everyone. A spirit of fellowship and trust existing between all the table tennis communities should be the highlight of this tournament.

11. All other basic rules not covered in this regulation are based on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rules.

HOUSE RULES:

1. All players are requested to show up on time and dressed accordingly.

2. All players are advised to provide their own racket. If none, a racket may be borrowed on site.

3. Players and their supporters are requested to minimize unnecessary noise, movements and stir that could cause unpleasant interruptions to the playing individuals.

4.Food and beverage (except bottled water) is not allowed at all times in the tournament site. Everyone is encouraged to keep the vicinity. Trash boxes are provided at their respective places of DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY MALL for your convenience and sanitary purposes.

5. Players and their supporters are advised not to use any flash lights or any light instruments that could hamper the visual effectiveness of the players during game situations. Mobile phones and audio devices other than the ones sanctioned by the 4get-me-not Alzheimer’s Tournament Organizers are to be kept on silent or to the lowest possible volume in order not to cause any distractions.

7. The Group Stage will be played in the best of 3games.
The Knockout stage & Semi Finals matches on all categories will be played in the best of 5 games.

8. In the Knockout Stage, the winner of the previous game will umpire the next game on the same table assignment. Players who will conduct as the umpire for the next game are encouraged to conduct his/her duty in a fair and honest objective. Any dispute that will stem during the game will be resolved by the ADTTA Official Tournament Committee.

Any dispute that will stem during the game will be resolved by the ADTTA Official Tournament Committee.

9. In the event when there will be a simple tie in the Group Stage, the rule of Win over the Other will be used. If there are more than one tie, the point system method will be used. The number of sets won less the number or sets lost will be the deciding factor.

10. All rules are subject to change and or sudden upgrade by the committee as per situation occurs.
In the event when disputes over the rules arise, the decision of the ADTTA Official Tournament Committee will be considered as final. This tournament encourages friendship and sportsmanship to all. All players are requested to show utmost cooperation and camaraderie to each and everyone. A spirit of fellowship and trust existing between all the table tennis communities should be the highlight of this tournament.

11. All other basic rules not covered in this regulation are based on the ITTF rules.

HOUSE RULES:

1. All players are requested to show up on time and dressed accordingly. The ADTTA Official Tournament Committee reserves the right and discretion to call a default to a player who hasn’t shown up under reasonable grace period.

2. All players are advised to provide their own racket.

3. Players and their supporters are requested to minimize unnecessary noise, movements and stir that could cause unpleasant interruptions to the playing individuals.

4. Everyone is encouraged to keep the vicinity clean and to avoid scattering of rubbishes. Trash boxes and plastic bags are provided at their respective places for your convenience and sanitary purposes.

5. Players and their supporters are advised not to use any flash lights or any light instruments that could hamper the visual effectiveness of the players during game situations. Mobile phones and audio devices other than the ones sanctioned by the tournament committee are to be kept on silent or to the lowest possible volume in order not to cause any distractions.

6. For inquiries during the tournament, please proceed to the Table Committee.

ZAYED HIGHER ORGANIZATION Mafraq Abu Dhabi UAE.
Date: October 25, 2013 : Time 9:00am

Tournament Rules and Regulations:

1.All participants are encouraged to proceed to the tournament venue on time as stated.

2.All participants are requested to pay the tournament entry fee of AED 100 to the table committee as soon as he/she arrives in the tournament venue.

3.First time participants in an ADTTA organized tournament whose playing skills have not yet been verified are subjected to confirmation by the tournament committee to establish the sincerity of their declared playing category.

4.This tournament is endorsed for unity and harmony for all table tennis enthusiasts. Participants are encouraged to show utmost sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout the duration of the tournament.

5.All participants, supporters and spectators are requested to adhere to cleanliness and orderliness as per regulations stated by the management of the tournament venue. All garbage must be secured and disposed of properly.

6.All participants, supporters and spectators are requested to maintain order and support a friendly atmosphere in and out of the tournament venue.

7. All participants, supporters and spectators who will be using digital cameras are advised to turn off their flashes in order not to interfere with the proper playing condition. Strong light coming from the flashes of cameras will disrupt vision of the players and will cause agitation. As so, laser pointers and other disturbing light devices are discouraged from being brought and utilized inside the tournament venue.

8.Any participants, supporters and spectators who will be found deliberately violating any rules and regulations as stated herein, conducting mischievous acts and showing gross disrespect to other participants, spectators and to the committee itself will be dealt with accordingly. Depending on the graveness of his/her offense, the perpetrator will be asked to leave the venue and/or will be banned from joining any future events organized by the same committee.

Tournament System:

1.The tournament will be based on a Double Elimination bracketing format.

2.There will be 4 categories to be played in this tournament: Classes A, B+, B and C.

3.The bracketing format will be based upon the actual number of registered participants.

4.Before the start of the tournament, the committee will be the one to conduct the actual draw of playing numbers for all participants. This is a necessary action in order to minimize time lost. All participants will be assured that the draw will be done in an honest and precise manner.

5.Winners’ bracket will be played in a best of 5 sets format.

6.Losers’ bracket will be played in a best of 3 sets format.

7.A player who will sustain two losses will be eliminated from the tournament.

8.The Player who will reach finals without losing a game will play with a twice to beat advantage (best of 5 sets per match as necessary) over an opponent coming from the losers’ bracket.

9.All participants are advised to be attentive and listen to the public address system as their names are being called upon. There will be a lunch break to be announced during the actual tournament. All games will be suspended and resumed as per the necessary time table. Special considerations are given to those participants who will be attending to their routine praying commitments. As so, such participants are encouraged to inform the committee in advance in order to make any necessary adjustments in the playing schedules.

10.Trophies and other special prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners as governed by the tournament committees and sponsors.
